TOXMAP now includes updated health data, congressional districts

TOXMAP's health data has been updated to cover the years (2009-2013). National county-level cancer and disease mortality data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) can be displayed as layers on the map.

For more information on displaying these layers, refer to TOXMAP Help: US Census & Health Data.

Political boundaries for the U.S. 114th congressional districts reflect the official membership as of January 5, 2016. This map layer can be toggled on and off via the Map Contents side panel.

TOXMAP beta now includes TRI 2013 data and health data

The TOXMAP beta now includes the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) 2013 National Analysis data. It also now has mortality data from NCI SEER previously only present in TOXMAP classic. To view national county-level cancer and disease mortality data from 2007-2011, bring up the US Census & Health Data window and navigate to the Mortality tab. Two subtabs list cancer and disease mortality layers that can be overlaid on the map (one at a time).

TOXMAP maps the TRI chemicals reported to the EPA, as required by the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).

A complete list of TRI chemicals required to be reported to the EPA can be found on their website.
